hey tom, posting this as you requested! :)
ReplyDeleteread thru the list of possible names today; triggered my thoughts. here's some names that struck me:
"a place to belong"
"everyone belonging"
"get rooted"
"rooted"
"root down" (with root used as verb)
the more i pondered, what kept coming to me was linking the concept of "rootedness" with the concept of "belonging." couple more ideas came from this:
"rooted and loved"
"rooted in love"
so in community, you are rooted in Jesus, attached to the vine, so to speak, and as your roots go deeper, you interconnect with others' roots and find a place of belonging.....or something like that :D
really liked re-church. It stuck out to me because in the last few months a lot of "re" words have come to me and meant a lot to me...so I like that one.
ReplyDeleteAtterri sounds and looks cool but I dont' know that people would "get it" in terms of it meaning something about community.
I like "Mine" too - it's about belonging.
Thanks guys, some good input. I do like Mine and I do like Aterri but maybe Altru (from Altruistic, meaning the belief in or practice of selfless concern for the well being of others. The play on words is like All True :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a place to belong, to get rooted in and root down. That's such a large part of it; finding a place together and in Jesus.
