Tom, upon reviewing these again - I really think you have a gem with the "bow" and arrow. I would like to see you continue with this one.
It is such a striking image and it certainly (and uniquely) communicates the style of "precise" fiddle playing. It successfully reminds me of the school of Polish poster artists from the 1960/70s.
Plus the legibility of the typography in the fiddle body may be difficult in the other idea.
